A Procession...

Blue is the colour of the vast skies,
The colour that colours silent sighs…
Blue of the gems, and blue of the eyes,
Blue is the colour when the body dies…

…blue is the colour when the body dies…
…when the body dies…
…blue is the colour…

There, she laid along the road-side,
Palms up-turned, lips parched and dried,
Flies humming, howering over eyes,
As inch-by-inch she diminished in size…

…inch-by-inch she diminished in size…
…diminished in size…
…inch-by-inch…

And the blues then turned black and brown,
With the wounds that emerged dust crowned…
A few souls die with the body’s crimes…
A few when die, die several times…

…A few when die, die several times…
…several times…
…few souls die…

~And the traffic moved... unmoved... in a procession~

I really really like the style of this poem...the way the words disappear...

Blue for me is the color of my madness on the white ;)

@Nothingman: Thangs Nothingman :-) Yeah the sight had a lasting effect in my mind and the sounds still echo... so re-produced that trailing effect it in writing.

Thanks to jeevy for the template. :-)

@Rajeev: thanku thanku. Arre I posted it last evening only.... how could I have told you? :-)

@blue ink: Absolutely! who will know the shades of blue better than you? ;-)
Thanks a ton. :-)

@Aks: Thanks dear. :-)
Hmmm day before, when I was getting back home in the evening, saw a lady lying on the road. I just went ahead, but guilt twitched in my tummy and I came back only to find her dead. Called up municipality, tried tracing her husband etc etc... That episode was kind of too heavy, so just wrote about it. :-)

the earth's spawn, to the earth it belongs...
a minute of silence, in this silent song...
grey is the colour of the infant dawn...
life moves on, on and on...

Winged Fantasy said...

@ humbl: :-)

What is born, shall one day die,
be it the grey or the orange sky.
An infant now, a youth tomorrow,
senility then, the eternal sorrow.
What is gone, is bye and gone,
No regrets, for life moves on...
...on and on... as you say.

Blue... what does blue signify?
Blue... blue and colours.

I am hypnotised and disaffected by colours.

What am I?
Confused and diminishing.

Mesmerising poem. I don't have a substitute for that word.

Is it now? I don't know..
If I ever saw a revamp... it was this one...

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its lovliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.

minakshi,

first a hug cause i missed you. sounds strange writing this comment to a blogmate but really did miss you girl.

i don't really have anything much to say about the poem since everyone who has commented here before me has summed up how great it is. but unlike them all , i actually thought the poem was about me. guess i got a bit drowned in these words and my life. was seeing my own reflection in those eyes for a moment back there.

do keep writing. you words keep a lot of us going.

Is this fair that you write only ven you are low.. Im sure writing helps in those times to let your sadness flow out in words. But equally enuf you may allow the happiness to gush over this space of yours.
To suggest you may write something abt world harmony and one religion concept... peace and prosperity basically. Only if you deal with such obtruse topics.
